2026/09/04

Bank of Taiwan received four major awards, including two Gold Awards and two Bronze Awards at the 2026 Taiwan and Asia-Pacific Sustainability Awards. Its initiatives, "Powering Corporate Net-Zero: A Green Energy Transition Progress" and "Leading Net-Zero Empowerment: Driving Industrial Innovation," received a Gold Award in SDG 7 and a Bronze Award in SDG 9 at the Asia-Pacific Sustainability Action Awards. In addition, the initiatives "Trust Support for Urban Renewal, Building a Livable and Sustainable Future" and "Net-Zero Empowerment, Industrial Innovation" received a Gold Award in SDG 11 and a Bronze Award in SDG 9, respectively, at the Taiwan Sustainability Action Awards. These accolades demonstrate Bank of Taiwan's concrete achievements in deepening sustainable finance.

Bank of Taiwan leverages trust-based management mechanisms to facilitate urban renewal and the reconstruction of aging and structurally unsafe buildings. By integrating financing and trust services, the Bank has established mechanisms for fund management and risk segregation. Through a cross-functional urban renewal finance task force, designated regional hub branches, and partnerships with external professional institutions, the Bank has built an integrated service platform offering comprehensive one-stop solution. It also promotes the concept of combining urban renewal with trust management through diverse channels, facilitating the smooth implementation of urban renewal projects.

To promote corporate net-zero transformation, Bank of Taiwan is committed to providing net-zero transition diagnosis for enterprises. By integrating financial resources, professional consulting, and digital technologies, the Bank helps enterprises strengthen their low-carbon transition capabilities through climate risk assessments, carbon inventories, and transition pathway planning. These efforts are complemented by sustainability-linked loans, green credit facilities, and renewable energy financing, encouraging enterprises to invest in energy efficiency, carbon reduction, and green infrastructure.

These awards underscore Bank of Taiwan's commitment and achievements in promoting urban renewal, advancing green finance, and supporting corporate net-zero transformation, while reinforcing its role as a leading force in sustainable finance.
