The Bank of Taiwan (BOT) supported the Financial Supervisory Commission’s (FSC) call for greater public education on financial fraud by partnering with the University of Taipei to host an anti-fraud and financial awareness event on campus on April 22, 2025. Many students enthusiastically took part in the event.
BOT is working tirelessly to prevent fraud and promote financial education in response to the proliferation of fraud cases. The effort also has the full backing of the upper management. Senior Executive Vice President Lee Ming-Hua personally headed the event and arranged for staff with FSC training to serve as instructors. On the day, the team played an anti-fraud video, described the common forms of fraud, as well as the “Five No’s and Three Yes” for avoiding fraud. A trivia quiz with prizes was held to interact with students and generated an enthusiastic response. Students were also asked to communicate the anti-fraud information to their elders to raise the overall level of fraud awareness.
BOT has been organizing financial education and anti-fraud events at schools in recent years. These events taught by trained instructors have been very well-received so have since been expanded to senior citizens, children and youths, and military units. According to the BOT, the bank will continue to adhere to the FSC’s enhanced anti-fraud measures by educating the general public on sound financial knowledge and wealth management concepts. By raising fraud awareness among the general public and implementing fair treatment of customers, BOT can exert a positive influence on finance and work together to safeguard people’s assets.
