The award ceremony of “2024 8th Taipei Golden Eagle Micro Movie Festival” sponsored by Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy was held at Taipei World Trade Center on August 9, 2024. The Bank of Taiwan (BOT) participated in the award selection with three micro movies named “Innovative Finance and Sustainable BOT”, “The Warmest Vicino” and “Fighting! Tough Girl!”. This marked their first participation in the festival, and they stood out among 94 entities and 183 works, winning a total of 5 awards. Their accolades include the Sustainability Micro Movie Bronze Award, second runner-up in the Best Internet Popularity Award, and the Internet Popularity Award.
BOT owns many precious historical buildings. In recent years, through preservation, revitalization and cooperation with local communities, BOT has given new missions to these buildings, demonstrating its commitment to urban sustainable development. The micro movie "Innovative Finance and Sustainable BOT " focuses on Yangmingshan American Military Housing of BOT, which consists of 118 old houses and nearly a hundred protected trees around Chinese Culture University. Through interviews, the micro movie presents the genuine sentiments of local operators regarding the preservation of cultural assets. Additionally, it showcases the cooperation with practitioners in the cultural and creative industries to fully demonstrate the diversity and resilience of historical buildings in use. The American Military Housing not only serves as a testimony to history but also acts as a bridge connecting the past and the future, allowing cultural assets to be continually preserved in modern life. Furthermore, BOT won the "Sustainability Micro Movie Bronze Award" and came in second place in the "Internet Best Popularity Award" category.
Furthermore, BOT has made considerable efforts to support financially disadvantaged groups by providing inclusive financial products and services. Through these initiatives, BOT is helping small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and disadvantaged groups access the financial support they need, thereby promoting economic growth and social fairness, and demonstrating a strong commitment to social responsibility. One of the micro movies, "The Warmest Vicino" tells the story of an entrepreneur who runs a community café with loans from BOT and gives back to society to continue the cycle of kindness. This micro movie won the "Sustainable Micro Movie Bronze Award" and the "Internet Popularity Award." Another micro film, "Fighting! Tough Girl!" depicts the story of a young person from a disadvantaged family who opens a fried chicken shop with the Young Entrepreneurs Loans from BOT, leading to an improved life and the realization of Personal value. This micro film won the "Internet Popularity Award".
BOT is actively giving back to society through various practical actions. It shows its heart-warming services and dedication to preserving historical buildings by creating micro movies. These efforts aim to make our customers and the general public feel supported by BOT. The awards received have recognized BOT's commitment to implementing corporate social responsibility.
