Taoyuan Building Workplace Mutual Aid Childcare Service Center of Bank of Taiwan clinches the“Excellent Award”in the 2023 workplace childcare facility competition within the public sector organized by the Directorate-General of Personnel Administration. At the award ceremony held at the Taipei campus of the CIVIL SERVICE DEVELOPMENT INSTITUTE, SEVP Tai, Shih-Yuan received the award on behalf of BOT from Su Chun-Jung, who lauded BOT for its proactive measures and commendable achievements in instituting workplace childcare facilities.

Su Chun-Jung, the Minister of the Directorate-General of Personnel Administration, extended appreciation to the award-winning organizations for their commitment to the government’s workplace childcare initiatives, diligent efforts, and contributions to promoting public educational and childcare services. To practice ESG principles for sustainable development, attend to the marriage, childbirth, and parenting needs of its young workforce, and proactively support Taiwan’s“Government and Families Raising Children Aged 0 to 6 Together”initiative, BOT has set up four Workplace Mutual Aid Childcare Service Centers in Taipei, Taoyuan, Kaohsiung, and Tainan. Opening its doors on August 1, 2022, the Taoyuan Building Workplace Mutual Aid Childcare Service Center stands as Taiwan’s first-ever workplace childcare facility initiated by a state-owned financial institution. Fengshan and Annan branches launched their Childcare Service Centers in the same year, committed to providing superior, convenient, and reasonably priced childcare services for 2 to 6-year-olds of employees’families and the local community. Employees can strike a balance between work and childcare, harmonizing their professional and family obligations. In response to the pressing challenge of declining birth rates, Bank of Taiwan recognizes its unequivocal responsibility as a state-owned financial institution. Committed to fulfilling corporate social responsibility and leveraging its influence, the bank takes the lead in cultivating a warm and friendly workplace conducive to parenting.

BOT embraces a people-centric philosophy, encouraging young colleagues to have and raise children. By providing employee care and community support, BOT cultivates a sense of belonging and solidarity among its staff. Through childcare assistance, it promotes the healthy growth and all-round development of employees’children, alleviating the burden of parenting and creating a friendly workplace. This, in turn, elevates societal awareness towards family-friendly initiatives, aligning with the bank’s commitment to sustainable development across environmental, social, and governance dimensions.
